What Are The Finest Cigars Made Of
In the old days, luxury cigars were only bought by rich people. It was a status symbol. But over the years the number of cigar smokers increased that included people from all walks of life. But there are still luxury cigars that do exist well beyond the reach of ordinary folks.
One example is Gurkha cigar, the finest and most expensive cigar in the world costing more than $1000 a piece. Gurkha is exclusively made in the Dominican Republic and considered the Rolls-Royce of the cigar industry – a true luxury cigar. A box of Gurkha cigars sells for $25,000 costing way more than a typical sedan.
In 1996, the manufacturers of Gurkha cigars got a hold of 18-year-old tobacco in which they fermented with Louis XIII Cognac. Cognac is basically known to smooth out the cigar, giving it a distinct aroma. The manufacturers started making only 75 boxes per year, which is now down to 20 boxes per year – most of it completely sold out before they’re made.
Not only are they ridiculously expensive but also extremely rare, thus, only a few people on this planet are privileged to smoke Gurkhas in a year.

You can practically hear the crisp tobacco just by looking at this image. I may have had a few cigars myself, but none can ever compare to the taste of a true Gurkha. I can imagine the sweet aftertaste of tobacco with a slight hint of cognac.

Cigar aficionados like to collect Gurkha cigars and keep them for their value before selling it again. Famous people who are a big fan of Gurkhas are Bill Clinton, Matthew McConaughey, and some members of the royal family. Other companies tried to copy these luxury cigars but its quality just couldn’t get any competition.
