Prepare For The 4th Of July – Important Camping Essentials For Men

Camping Trip Must Haves

Camping essentials for men are not just about the things that you need to bring on a camping trip.  The first thing you need to check before preparing your camping gear is the weather.  That way there are no surprises when you get there as well as give you an idea of the campsite preparations ahead of time.  If you have a big enough space in your car to bring everything you need for all types of weather, that’s fine.  But if you’re saving space or you want to avoid the trouble of packing what is obviously not needed for the trip, then it’s necessary to know what the skies have in store for you out there.  Either way, when you’re not inside the comfort of your home and want to spend some time with mother nature, you have to make sure you got everything covered for your safety and survival.  So these are the most important things you must have in camp.

1. Camping Backpack

The pack has to be large in terms of the size.  At least a volume of 50 liters is good but the bigger the better.  The bag should have a good harness and waistbelt to support it on your body. Otherwise, your shoulders will get blisters that’ll hurt real bad carrying the bag’s weight while walking on possible uneven surfaces.

2. Sleeping Bag

Your sleeping bag is very important to keep you warm in the night.  An ideal one should be under 4 lbs, sufficiently warm, and not too bulky to allow enough space for other things in your pack.  Cheaper sleeping bags are heavier and bigger while expensive ones are lighter, provides more warmth, and can be packed into something really small for packing convenience.

3. Tent for shelter

Obviously, you need something to keep you dry in case of rain and snow, and keep the wind out in the night.  A single tent can be shared by 3 to 4 people so an extra tent is optional depending on the number of campers, or in cases like a couple wanting to have privacy in one shelter.4. Footwear

4. Footwear

There are a few options but it’s best to wear leather boots that’s waterproof, and has a really strong sole that can’t easily bend.  You will be carrying a lot of weight on your back and you definitely want your ankles to be protected.  The worst thing that could happen is stepping on a rock and spraining your ankle which is a really bad thing especially when you’re alone and already far enough to get immediate help.

5. Paracord

There are a couple of different options for this camping tool.  A pop-can made which is the cheapest version that you can make at home.  The not so cheap camping stoves like the whisper light and the Jetboil are more durable and convenient.  Most importantly there has to be a way for you to cook or heat your food.

7. Camping Bottle or Water Bottle

9. Flashlight or Headlamp
