Any man can agree that ever since Jeremy Clarkson left Top Gear, the BBC motoring series won’t ever be the same again. That’s no offense to Chris Evans, of course, considering that the multimillionaire’s passion for cars makes him very qualified to take over the helm. However, Top Gear will always be synonymous with the Englishman like, say, Iron Man is tailor-made for Robert Downey Jr. The good news is that Jeremy Clarkson will take his acerbic wit and even downright offensive humor to The Grand Tour Season 1 premiere.
Things You Should Know Before The Grand Tour Season 1 Premiere
Before watching The Grand Tour season 1 premiere, here’s a list of what you need to learn so you know what you are getting yourself into before you strap into your seat and enjoy the ride. If you’re excited as I am with this new show from my favorite trio in television, read on and don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments after.
1. The old crew is back
When you watch The Grand Tour season 1 premiere, expect the same shenanigans from the old Top Gear crew of Jeremy Clarkson, Brian May and Richard Hammond. What made the BBC motoring show the worldwide sensation that it was not only the cars, but also the delicious back-and-forth between the hosts.
2. Jeremy Clarkson spent a lot trademarking the name

Jeremy Clarkson himself admitted that one of the worst things about making your own show was to come up with a name. When he pitched a show back in July to Amazon Prime, he still didn’t have a title. And when he did come up with a working name, getting it licensed was a pain in the buttocks. In fact, he spent thousands in lawyer’s fees to make sure he owns the brand.
“We need a name that isn’t in use by any business anywhere in the world, and doesn’t even sound or look like any name that’s in use by any business anywhere in the world,” he wrote.
3. It’s going to be once a week
When The Grand Tour season 1 premiere rolls along, you can only download one episode per week from Amazon Prime. That means you can’t binge-watch like some series over at Netflix. It doesn’t matter if you have Premium key because the producers of the show decided that the Jeremy Clarkson series will work best in a once-a-week format because, as showrunner Andy Wilman told Daily Mail, “It’s those three do something retarded and next week they do something else retarded.”
4. Hollywood guest stars
How about Jason Bourne himself slamming it out with Jeremy Clarkson and the crew? It’s not likely that Matt Damon would appear during The Grand Tour season 1 premiere, but it’s confirmed that he will be the guest star at some point. The other celebrity who confirmed to be appearing in the series is the always beautiful Charlize Theron. It’s Furiosa of Mad Max: Fury Road herself people! It’s going to be epic!
5. The Grand Tour Season 1 premieres on Nov. 18
The good news is that there are only two months left before The Grand Tour season 1 premiere. The bad news is that there’s still two months to go before The Grand Tour season 1 premiere. Each episode will be roughly an hour long. The better news, however, the three hosts have agreed to do three 12-episode series so we have a lot to look forward to.
To give you a preview of what to expect on the upcoming show, here’s a video from The Grand Tour:
