It is widely known that cigars were first produced in Spain. But before cigars became all the rage in Europe, Tobacco was necessary to make them. Tobacco is endemic to the Americas, where native people have produced it for hundreds of years. It is also known that the Maya of Yucatan peninsula produced and smoked tobacco too. It’s first use in the United States was probably from a group of people in the Mississippi. It wasn’t when the time Christopher Columbus sailed to the Americas in 1942 that the rest of world knew tobacco.
