Men can be as fashionable as women. Some clothes for men are good for work, some are good for parties, and some are good for casual events like a trip to the mall. But more often than not, we make the simple mistake of throwing every single piece of clothing we find in our closets to put together an ensemble.
These different wardrobe essentials are not just for the sake of randomness. When properly mixed together, they make dapper looks fitting for a confident man.
Clothes For Men | Wardrobe Essentials For Every Confident Man
A couple of years ago, I never thought that putting together an outfit would require me buying different clothes for men. Yes, I grew up with hand-me-downs and I never took fashion seriously. As long as the shirt and pants didn’t have holes, and the socks matched, they were fine with me. But that was then. I realized that fashion is not just for women and being fashionable doesn’t mean being vain. A tailored suit or a classy shirt can lift your mood and boost your confidence. I am going to drop some knowledge on you, my dear readers. So lend me an open mind as I share with you this list of must-have clothes for men.
1. Dark Indigo Jeans
Dark indigo jeans are a fashion staple because they look good for any ensemble. Wear a polo shirt and you got a smart-casual thing going on. A simple shirt with indigo jeans matched with Double Monks can capture any young lady’s attention.
2. Desert Boots
Desert boots go well over any ensemble. You can wear them over a pair of slacks, Chinos, or even faded jeans.
3. White Oxford Shirt
Oxfords never go out of fashion. EVER. Every confident man should own a couple of Oxford whites and a few different shades. I prefer blues and blacks.
4. Travel Messenger Bag
You need to have this bag for your small stuff like your wallet, shades, handkerchief, and even your man-kit (toothbrush, mouthwash, toothpaste, wax, gel, and so on).
5. Khaki Chinos
Chinos are made when the mommy slacks and daddy jeans love each other too much. I kid, but the Chinos are like a fine balance between the casualness of a pair of jeans and the classiness of a pair of slacks. One can match them with any pair of shoes or shirt and still look as fine as Don Draper.
6. Denim Jacket
A denim jacket is one of the must-have clothes for men that deserves more chance to be included in your wardrobe. Forget about Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears’ denim disaster, which made many people fear denim tops. When done right, a denim jacket is the perfect layering buddy for those chilly days. Try wearing it with a simple shirt and a chino!
7. White Crewneck T-Shirt
If you don’t have a good quality white crewneck t-shirt as of the moment, I suggest you buy two immediately. White tees will go with just about any piece clothing you have. Invest on high-quality cotton ones, you will not regret it.
8. Tailored Suit
If you’ve watched the “Kingsman” movie, you’ll know how a bespoke suit gives confidence to a man. It is the mark of a gentleman and a confident one at that. Make sure that if you wear a suit, it’s tailor-fit to your body.
