Heat the pizza and take the beer out of the fridge because you might stay in front of the boob tube for a while as I list the best comedy TV shows for men that are not a lot of people are talking about. For this list, I ignore Scrubs, South Park, The Simpsons, SNL or even the very witty sketches of Key & Peele. I think they’ve developed quite an audience over the years, and we’d like to introduce you to some of the shows which made me laugh so hard.
Best Comedy TV Shows For Men You Should Know About
We know there’s no accounting for taste. What one man may find hilarious may be considered boring by others but I believe my list of the best comedy TV shows will tickle your funny bones. Some may not even be obvious comedies but you will certainly be rewarded by more than a few guffaws. So let’s not waste time and get right down to it.
1. Ash vs Evil Dead
Men who’ve watched the Evil Dead series by Sam Raimi knows about a fun blend of exaggerated horror, gore, and silly humor in the franchise. This time, Bruce Campbell is bringing his character Ash to the small screen with Ash vs Evil Dead (STARZ Network) and continuing his journey as the unlikeliest hero to save the world. If you want to learn some survival skills, however, in order to increase your chances in case of encountering demons along the way, visit this site.
2. Brooklyn Nine-Nine
This series stars Adam Samberg as the clueless Jake Peralta of the Brooklyn 99th Precinct. In a sense, he’s very similar to Bruce Campbell’s character who is endearingly self-important while also overestimating his ability around women. Brooklyn Nine-Nine (FOX) is one long SNL sketch, and of course, at the end of the day, the hero saves the neighborhood.
3. Rick and Morty
In the tradition of South Park, The Simpsons, and Futurama, this animated series is as silly as it can get. Paying homage to Back to the Future franchise, the premise is simple enough: a super-genius of a scientist brings along his idiot of a grandson to his many adventures. The humor can get very dark quite quickly so this is definitely not for kids. This is not just one of the best comedy TV shows on the Adult Swim lineup, but in the whole small screen as well.
4. Son of Zorn
Although this hasn’t gotten a lot of press, this has quickly developed a cult following because of its silly concept. An animated barbarian has a real-life son in US suburbia, and he’s coming over to get to know him better. In fact, those who know about Son of Zorn (Fox) will agree it’s one of the best comedy TV shows out there.
5. Psych
Sean Spencer, a son of a retired police officer, and his childhood friend Burton Guster opens a detective agency taking advantage of the former’s keen observation skills. Although one of the best comedy TV shows has already ended its run in the USA, it’s a good thing that you can still watch episodes on Hulu. In terms of bromance, nothing beats Turk and JD of Scrubs, this show comes pretty close.
6. Vice Principals
Danny McBride, Bill Murray, and Walton Goggins. Those three alone is worth the price of admission for this new series. In this series, Danny McBride and Walton Goggins play the vice principals who fight it out to become the next boss of an American high school. Be warned, however, Vice Principals (HBO) is a dark comedy so it’s not for everybody.
7. Better Late Than Never
Anything William Shatner would be on would certainly be quirky. But you add Herry Winkler, George Foreman, Terry Bradshaw and comedian Jeff Dye and you have the formula for one of the best comedy TV shows today. Better Late Than Never airs on NBC.

The list above includes some of the best comedy TV shows right now. But you can always go back to the watch reruns of Malcolm in the Middle, Chuck, Entourage, Scrubs, M*A*S*H, The League, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, My Name is Earl and Monk. The list goes on and on. The only question remains is, do you still have enough beer?
