One of the three main differences between the two types of wine is color. In terms of their color, white wines have the tendency to be pale or blonde.

Red wines, on the other hand, are typically in shades of purple, ruby red, or brick red.

Tannins are tactile sensations found in grape’s skin. And since white wine is created by separating the grape juice from the skin (and discarding the skin), it’s impossible for a white wine to possess tannins.
