Conor McGregor: The Road To Rematch

Conor Mcgregor is one of the fastest rising stars in UFC.  Coming from the unknown corners of Ireland and into the bright lights of Los Angeles, this Irishman is the real deal in mixed martial arts.  His brash behavior and ability to get into his opponent’s mind before the fight was demonstrated numerous times against high caliber fighters like Chad Mendez and Jose Aldo.  His skill in the Octagon is unparalleled up until his last fight against the Ultimate Fighter 5 winner, Nate Diaz. Mcgregor lost via submission.

Conor McGregor: The Road To Rematch

Conor Mcgregor is a fighter with principle. He got defeated, but does not quit.  Conor is pumped up to prove something. This fuels him for another match.  I feel him wanting to fight Nate Diaz again the following day after getting submitted.  He was excited to get in the Octagon for his rematch with Nate. He was obsessed with a rematch.

How else would you feel if you talk too much trash and someone stole your victory after beating your opponent to the punch the whole time in the early stages of the fight?  But there’s no doubt the “Notorious” will deliver in UFC 202.  He maybe one of the biggest trash talkers in the hurt game, but he can walk the walk and talk the talk.

Watch this video by JoeMMA195 of Mcgregor’s obsession for a rematch after his loss to Nate Diaz.

Conor Mcgregor landed his trademark thunderous straight left on an already bloodied Nate Diaz.

Mcgregor was not being efficient with his energy. This allowed Diaz to turn the tides. Diaz then mounted the Irishman and secured the win by rear naked choke.

UFC 196 was a huge disappointment to the Irish people and to all Mcgregor fans around the world.  I’m a Mcgregor fan myself and an even bigger fan after seeing how he handled the loss to Nate Diaz.  My favorite Conor line at the post-fight interview was: “I’m humble in victory or defeat,” I have no doubts that he’s the best and what a classy display of losing to another fighter. Fight fans can expect a fiercer and more tenacious Conor Mcgregor in UFC 202.
